Gray fur, yellow-brown eyes, sharp-edged teeth – only a few have ever seen him in the wild: the wolf. But wherever he appears, most people feel a diffuse uneasiness. But where does this vague fear come from?
Cult site Hohenstein
Around the three rock formations “Teufelskanzel”, “Grüner Altar” and “Hirschsprung” revolve numerous myths, legends and fairy tales. Among other things, the Pentecost carnations on the rock faces are said to have received their red color from the much blood of the sacrificial offerings.
