Cathy (25) from Hanover has been living a very special kind of spirituality for a long time and identifies as a modern witch. The musician and sound engineer believes in the power of nature and lives in harmony with the changing seasons. Rest in winter, more energy in summer. No strawberries in winter, just seasonal vegetables and whatever herbs are growing at the time. Her knowledge and actions are based on various currents of modern nature religions, such as the Wicca movement or Nordic mythology. For her, there is no one right way to live out her faith; she tries out many things and sees what does her good, inspires her or relaxes her. Cathy expresses her gratitude and respect for nature with offerings and festivals throughout the year. This was already the custom of the Celts and also of the new modern Wicca cult. “Beltane” as a welcome to summer and the flourishing of plants, ‘Lughnasadh’ as Thanksgiving or the spring festival ‘Ostara’ as an expression of new beginnings – everything revolves around the transformation of nature. A spirituality that is also based on a belief in energies and their balance and gives Cathy a lot of strength and confidence in her everyday life.
